Sunshine's humble beginnings started in a residence located in Lynwood. After years of quality education and care, we expanded to a larger space just blocks away. Bringing with us our staff, students and ethics, Sunshine was born. Sunshine is the response to the rising demand in quality child care, thus helping more of our local youth to learn in creative ways. We believe each child is different, and the early development stages are the most crucial adaptive learning stages of a young persons life. So nothing thrills and creatively challenges our teaching staff more than to understand their students and teach on a level that truly translates to their unique cognitive process; Helping them understand and navigate the world in their own unique perspectives. Over 25 years of service has taught us that we never stop learning as we continue to seek new and innovative ways to teach. We even have the deepest privilege of teaching students who's parents were once students of Sunshine. Thank you for stopping by, we're excited to meet you!

COVID SAFETY MEASURES

Combined with our current cleaning and sanitation routine, we've added a few extra measures to ensure the safety of our staff, students and parents. Temperature checks are made everyday on arrival. All children and staff are to have masks on at all times with the exceptions of meal times and play time; to which we practice social distancing. Sunshine provides in house masks, labled and individualized in their own sealed bags. They're washed each and every day. Toys and books are sanitized after each use, smaller toys are are cycled out with clean ones everyday as we leave the others to sanitize over night in safe solution. Children are to wash hands after every activity as well as every surfaced is to be cleaned by our staff after every activity. And unfortunately, to avoid the risk of outside pathogens, the CDC has asked us not to allow parents into the facility. But this doesn't mean you cant see what's happening at Sunshine. Current parents with an access code can keep up with their child's daily activities(See Current Parents Tab Located under Parental Involvement Title) and for future patents who'd like to tour the facility (See Take a Tour Tab). UPON ARRIVAL, EMPLOYEES AND STUDENTS SANITIZE THIER SHOES ON OUR DISINFECTANT FLOOR MAT AND WASH HANDS TO HELP ELIMINATE POTENTIAL OUTSIDE PATHOGENS.
STUDENTS AND STAFF ARE CHECKED DAILY FOR SAFE TEMPERATURE READINGS RANGING BETWEEN 97.7–99.5 °F.
*WE POLITELY ASK STUDENTS AND STAFF WHO HAVE FEVER SYMPTOMS TO STAY HOME TO ENSURE THE SAFETY OF OUR STUDENTS. THANK YOU!
Each child is issued their own personal mask labeled with their name, sealed in a labeled zip-lock bag. Masks are washed & sanitized daily.
Each child is assigned a personalized distance mat to ensure each child is adopting social distance guidelines. Each mat is sanitized after each use.
School is back in session! But this time, Sunshine is hosting the physical classroom while the Los Angeles Unified School District hosts the Virtual Classroom with Zoom. Each child is allotted LAUSD School Time at their personalized individual desks.
Parents have the option of Calling Ahead to let us know they're on their way or just simply come by and buzz in to let us know you're here for your child. We have a touch-less sign in/out system as well.
After our students have gone home, we sanitize all surfaces with hospital grade disinfectant.
Once a month, our sanitation partners do a thorough multi-layered clean-up, covering the entire perimeter of the center.
